Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency for a 7-week hospital assignment.
Details
- Telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
- Diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 16-bed unit
- Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Requires working every other weekend
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Manage patients on heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), and PCA
- Care for patients with respiratory needs including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
- Perform IV therapy including starting and maintaining IVs, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, must be finalized prior to start
- RTO cannot be requested during Spring Break blackout dates (April 4th-12th) or during orientation week
- Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
