Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of ICU and ED experience for a night shift position requiring Epic charting experience.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit within a hospital setting
- Care for adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU patient populations
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 06:30
- Every other weekend work required
- No on-call requirements
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- ICU and ED experience required
- NICU experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, RRT
- NRP certification preferred
- Louisiana license required if applicable
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
- Experience with arterial blood gas draws and arterial punctures
- Proficient in medication delivery systems including aerosol setups and MDI
- Experience with tracheostomy care and management
- Two recent supervisor references required, dated within 12 months
- Valid driver's license copy required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform respiratory therapy duties including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and pulmonary hygiene
- Assist with intubation and extubation procedures
- Manage airway devices and perform suctioning as needed
- Collect sputum specimens and draw arterial blood gases
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
- Former permanent employees of the health system must wait at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
- Any work history gaps of more than 30 days must be disclosed and explained
