Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and NC or compact licensure.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 733 staffed beds
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to like units, including within the hospital or sister campus depending on booking
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand, pending licenses not accepted
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Charge experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, respiratory care, wound care, and isolation precautions
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide skilled nursing care to med/surg telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Scrub colors required are royal blue and white
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible for travel positions
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days and only 1 holiday may be approved, subject to manager's discretion
- Holiday coverage is required as scheduling allows
- Previous employees must have been gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- Extensions are limited to once for day shift and twice for night shift, after which travelers must wait 6 months before reapplying
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
