Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Short Term Acute Care hospital with 379 staffed beds
- Level II Trauma Center setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating between units required
- No on-call responsibilities
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
- Experience with oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Neuro stepdown and neurological/psychiatric care experience preferred, including CVA, craniotomy, intracranial bleeds, pre/post neurosurgery, post TPA care, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, and substance withdrawal
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide medical/surgical and telemetry nursing care with cardiac monitoring and emergency response duties
- Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
- Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer time off requests may not be accommodated
