Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and GA or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in a 32-bed Progressive Care Unit with an average daily census of 21 patients
  • Unit admits patients from CICU, MSICU, acute care floors, and the ED
  • Care for adult to geriatric patients with post-op CABG, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
  • Manage respiratory failure with multiple treatment modalities, excluding invasive mechanical ventilation
  • Treat cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, GI disorders, hypertensive emergencies, sepsis, and neuro disorders
  • Patient ratio of 1:3-4
  • Uses Epic EMR along with Pyxis, SBAR, AirVo, BiPap, and CPAP
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • No call requirements

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Telemetry setting experience required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry-level nursing care to a diverse patient population transitioning from critical care or requiring step-down monitoring
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of consideration
  • No RTO can be requested during orientation week
  • Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period, with limited holiday RTO consideration if three holidays occur
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Prior Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers previously unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before rebooking
  • Full compliance required to start on time, as non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
