Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a CVICU position requiring at least 2 years of CVICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • 13-week assignment with block scheduling required
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating between units required, with potential floating to sister facilities
  • Patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required, with CVICU experience specifically required
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, CCRN preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
  • Experience managing patients with AKI, CRRT/CVVHD, and renal failure
  • Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
  • Experience with post cardiac surgery care, CABG, IABP, Impella, and epicardial pacing wire management
  • Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and managing continuous IV sedation/paralytics
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and hypothermia protocol preferred
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required
  • Must provide response regarding any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem)

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including pre/post cardiac catheterization and valve repair/replacement cases
  • Scrub color for RNs is any color
  • No parking fee at this facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this CVICU position
  • Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the region
