Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic experience.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment
- Care for laboring, couplet, and postpartum obstetric patients including high-risk cases
- Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 for labor and 1:3 for couplets
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating limited to units within the division, will not float to med/surg units
- Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication
Requirements
- Active RN license (NH state or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- First-time travelers considered only if candidate has 2-5 years of L&D experience
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and trauma level I/II experience preferred
- References required, with possible start pending second reference
- Only AHA and Red Cross certification copies accepted
- Background or license history issues must be approved by facility prior to offer
- Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of start date
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care including fetal monitoring, newborn assessment, and management of high-risk obstetric conditions
- Skilled in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Experience with antepartum care, NST/OCT testing, and triage of obstetrical patients is valued
- Scrubs of any color are permitted
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a reduced rate
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff at any facility within the associated health system are not eligible, regardless of length of separation
