Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent ER experience.

Details

• Work in a combined general Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department at a non-trauma, STEMI and stroke certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4:1
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
• Uses Omnicell medication system and EPIC for documentation
• Floating to other qualified units and campuses may be required based on census needs

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, MAB, NIHSS, PALS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent ER experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR required
• Prior charge experience of 1+ year
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency care for pediatric and adult populations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions
• Experience with IV therapy, procedural sedation, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, pediatric emergencies, and behavioral health crises
• Perform triage, EKG interpretation, splinting, and management of patients requiring isolation precautions
• Orientation occurs every Monday along with annual compliance training
• Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers will be considered based on skill and experience level
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with limited exceptions for reduced-rate eligibility at 90-99.9 miles
