Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU/PICU experience for a night shift position at a children's hospital, requiring an active OH RRT license.
Details
- Work in a children's hospital within the RRT Pediatrics unit
- Care for neonatal and pediatric patients in NICU and Pediatric Critical Care settings
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- 13-week assignment length
- Floating to different units required based on assignment needs
- Uses ventilator management equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency oscillator, and G5 Hamilton Vent
- Performs medication delivery via aerosol setups, MDI, and nebulizers
- Administers medications including Albuterol and Nitric Oxide (iNO)
Requirements
- Active RRT credential required
- OH state license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred, ideally in NICU/PICU due to floating requirements
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- NRP certification preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Skilled in interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
- Proficient in airway management including intubation assist, nasal/oral suctioning, and sputum specimen collection
- Experience with tracheostomy care and management
- Experience with CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BiPAP and Oscillating Ventilator equipment
- Two supervisory references required, with at least one being manager or supervisor titled (charge nurse references do not qualify)
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in critical care settings
- Perform ventilator management, medication administration, and airway management procedures
- Collaborate with pediatric critical care team to support patient needs
- Must float to different units as assignment requires, which is a key point of emphasis at this facility
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are not eligible for this position
- Candidates who have worked in a permanent role at this facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
