Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Required to work every other weekend (EOW)
• May float to the ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department
• Utilizes Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line care, central and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care preferred
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex and post-surgical neuro ICU patients
• May be responsible for managing patients requiring hypothermia protocols, EVDs, ICP monitoring, and ventilator support
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local pay rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only 1 holiday RTO request approved per contract, with holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers considered for this role
