Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift assignment in a large acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of critical care experience.

Details

• Acute care setting within the Respiratory Therapy department
• Cares for general med, intermediate, and ICU patient populations
• Uses Servo U, Servo i, and LTV ventilators, Trilogy Bipap, ResMed S9 Cpap, and Fisher Paykel heated high flow equipment
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• 12-hour night shifts, 1830-0700
• Works every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and every other holiday
• No call or standby call requirements
• No floating required within Respiratory Therapy
• Team lead available on each shift as a resource, does not take patient assignments
• Hospitalist and Intensivist available in-house 24/7

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Critical care experience in a large facility (300+ beds) required
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) preferred; CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) also considered, both via NBRC
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• License required if applicable
• Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
• Must not have worked at any OSF facility within the past year
• Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Additional Information

• Utilizes AARC point system with typical daily assignment of 26-28 points
• Department-specific orientation includes 12 hours of EPIC training, ventilator review, and specialty item review, followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor before working independently
• Any color scrubs permitted; scrubs are not provided by facility
• COVID vaccination not required
• Local candidates accepted with reduced local bill rate for those within 50 miles of the facility
