Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in pediatric cardiac catheterization procedures for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in a pediatric cardiac catheterization lab with 2 procedure rooms
- Pediatric and adult transplant patient population
- Procedures include right/left heart biopsy, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, and valve placement
- May also include interventional radiology cases, preferably pediatric
- EP experience preferred
- 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- On-call requirement of 8-10 shifts per month, including weekend coverage
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in cardiac cath lab procedures
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required (AHA only)
- CCI certification with RCIS or RCES preferred, or ARRT (R) with SCRQSA (R) accepted
- Experience with pediatric and adult transplant cath lab procedures, including biopsy, balloon, stent, and valve placement
- Diagnostic catheterization experience in both adult and pediatric/neonatal populations preferred
- Experience with percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and cardiac stent placement
- Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
- License required if applicable
- First-time travelers accepted
- Social Security number and driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital
- Perform pediatric and adult cardiac catheterization procedures within a specialized children's hospital setting
- Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager's discretion but is not guaranteed
- Candidates must live within 60 miles of the facility to be considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application for facility approval
- Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
- Parking is free except for nights and weekends, which require a one-time $20 parking pass fee
