Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring Level I trauma experience and a NC or compact RN license in hand.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Room of a Level I Trauma Center
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license, NC or Compact, required in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
- CPI certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
- Skills in IV therapy and phlebotomy required
- Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation preferred
- Neurological trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury preferred
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
- Triage and ortho trauma experience preferred
Additional Information
- Care for patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
- Work within a Level I Trauma Center equipped for high-acuity emergency care
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
- Scrub color required: Royal Blue
- Flu vaccine required from October 31 through March 31 with no exemptions
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
- RTO requests must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
- Candidates with previous permanent employment at Duke University Health System must disclose this history and must not have been a permanent employee within the past 6 months
