Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital
• 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7p-7a)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Required to work every other weekend
• On-call responsibilities are rare, limited to the first 4 hours if required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities
• Care includes cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Utilizes Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiovascular care including pacemaker management and pre/post cardiac catheterization or surgery care
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a Med/Surg Telemetry patient population
• Responsibilities include continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac management, and substance withdrawal monitoring
• Royal Blue scrub color required
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility for priority consideration, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous MUSC permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
