Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital
- 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7p-7a)
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Required to work every other weekend
- On-call responsibilities are rare, limited to the first 4 hours if required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities
- Care includes cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team involvement
- Utilizes Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
- Experience with cardiovascular care including pacemaker management and pre/post cardiac catheterization or surgery care
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to a Med/Surg Telemetry patient population
- Responsibilities include continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac management, and substance withdrawal monitoring
- Royal Blue scrub color required
- Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility for priority consideration, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous MUSC permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
- Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
- During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
