Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit within a teaching hospital setting
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Patient population includes high risk antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum patients
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating between sister facilities may be required
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, and NRP; ACLS preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), medication administration, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Experience required in labor and delivery management, assisting with high risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, sterile vaginal exams, and epidural anesthesia pain management
- Experience required in fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, antepartum and postpartum care, and wound assessment/care
- Two supervisory references required covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include triage of obstetrical patients, isolation precautions/PPE compliance, and pain assessment and management using PCA (IV)
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- Candidates must be able to disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem staff
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- First-time travelers are not typically considered given the required 2 years of minimum experience
