Description
American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a 13-week day-shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of PACU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in the PACU providing recovery care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures from Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and GI/Endoscopy
- Deliver recovery care for patients receiving moderate procedural sedation as well as general anesthesia recovery
- Cardiac monitoring capability provided for all applicable patient populations
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM, Tuesday starts
- Three variable days per week with no weekends or holidays required
- Uses Epic EMR
- May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
Requirements
- Active RN license required
- Active OR license required
- BLS and ACLS certification required prior to first day of work
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Adult Critical Care, Procedural, or ED experience within the last 5 years
- BSN and CCRN certification preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- Strong communication, active listening, and conflict management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to navigate complex patient care coordination independently
- Efficient time management skills to move patients through the system effectively
Additional Information
- Serve as a role model in supporting and promoting the facility's vision and mission
- Preferred experience includes arterial/venous femoral access, sheath removal and management
- Preferred experience includes anesthesia recovery (Phase I/II), TEE, cardioversion, and BMBx procedures
- Preferred experience serving on a Shared Governance council or committee
- Preferred prior Charge RN experience in ICU, PACU, ED, or Procedural Unit settings
- Preferred specialty certifications include CAPA, CPAN, and CCRN
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage radius restriction
- Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
- Up to 2 weeks of requested time off (RTO) allowed and must be submitted upfront
- Former OHSU employees or previous OHSU travelers must be gone at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers may be considered pending review of position details
