Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with a minimum of 2 years of recent experience and an active OH or compact RN license for a 13-week night shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a community hospital setting
• MS/Tele patient population requiring cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Works an every-other-weekend (EOW) rotation
• Call required, with an expectation to arrive at the hospital within 1 hour when called in
• Must be willing to float to all three campuses (Ontario, Bucyrus, and Galion) as needed
• Epic charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH state or compact) currently in hand, pending licenses not accepted
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent, continuous Med/Surg experience required
• Recent travel experience within the last year required; no first-time travelers
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Proficient in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and portable oxygen tank use
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a smoke-free hospital and campus environment
• Deliver respiratory support and IV therapy as part of daily patient care duties
• Complete up to 8 hours of non-billable pre-start training modules through HealthStream
• Holiday requests for time off will not be accommodated during major holiday weeks
• Former permanent employees of the facility must wait at least 6 months before being eligible for this position
