Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a busy Ortho Trauma unit requiring 1 year of Med/Surg experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work on a 36-bed Ortho/Trauma Specialty Med/Surg unit
• 7P-7A night shift schedule
• Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and 3 CNAs per shift
• Patient ratio of 1:5, flexing up to 1:6
• Uses telemetry equipment and Meditech EMR
• Common diagnoses include polytrauma, non-surgical cervical fractures, downgraded TBI, and burn downgrades
• Manages Heparin and Protonix drips, with no more than 3 drains per patient
• Floating required to all Med/Surg units
• 4 weekend commitment required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Ortho and/or Trauma patient experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Deliver specialty Med/Surg care to orthopedic and trauma patients, including polytrauma and downgraded TBI cases
• Team player mindset valued for this collaborative unit
• Must arrive on the unit by 6:45 PM for shift huddle, with tardiness subject to hospital policy
• Scrub color/attire: Royal Blue
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
