Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for PACU requiring ICU and PACU experience along with a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Recovery Room/PACU unit located next to the OR on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building
- 26-bed unit with patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift staffed by charge nurse and usually a float nurse; night shift covered by closed on-call PACU nurses
- Procedures include general, neuro, oncology, orthopedic, and vascular surgeries of all types
- Uses Meditech EMR
- Varied shift times including 8a-8p, 9a-9p, or 10a-10p
- On-call required, averaging one night per week and two weekends within the 13-week contract
- Floating required to Day Surgery
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent PACU experience required
- ICU experience required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care across a wide range of surgical specialties
- Follows ASPAN guidelines for unit practice
- Dress code requires royal blue or hospital-issued scrubs
- Staff described as easygoing and pleasant, with access to state-of-the-art equipment
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
