Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in pediatric/adult transplant cath lab procedures for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

  • Pediatric Cath Lab setting within a Level I Trauma, teaching, Magnet-designated hospital
  • 2 cath lab procedure rooms
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • On-call requirement of 8-10 call shifts per month, including weekend coverage
  • Cases include pediatric and adult transplant right/left heart biopsy, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, and valve placement
  • May also include interventional radiology cases, preferably pediatric
  • Experience in Level I Trauma pediatric cath lab and EP procedures preferred
  • Epic EMR preferred

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of cath lab experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required (AHA-issued only)
  • CCI certification with RCIS or RCES preferred, or ARRT (R) with SCRQSA (R) accepted as an alternative
  • License required if applicable
  • Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
  • Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures, cardiac stent placement, and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
  • Experience with adult diagnostic catheterizations preferred
  • Experience with pediatric/neonatal diagnostic catheterizations required
  • First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

  • Perform pediatric and adult transplant cardiac catheterization procedures, including biopsies, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, and valve placement
  • May participate in interventional radiology procedures
  • Block scheduling accommodations may be considered at manager's discretion, though not guaranteed
  • All staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs June through November with peak activity in August and September
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Candidates residing within a 60-mile radius are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application for facility approval
  • Parking requires a one-time $20 fee for nights and weekends
