Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and AWHONN, NRP, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital environment
• Unit consists of 4 LDR beds with no unit secretary or tech support
• Patient ratios of 1:1 for pitocin patients and 2:1 for other patients
• Uses Meditech / CPN documentation system
• Night shift schedule from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend schedule required, including every other weekend
• No floating required
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact license currently in hand (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN (intermediate or advanced)
• Minimum 2 years of hospital or specialty L&D experience required
• Experience with labor and delivery, recovery, immediate newborn care, and golden hour baby care
• Experience with PACU c-section care and ability to circulate c-sections required
• Ability to scrub c-sections preferred
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery
• Support immediate newborn care including golden hour bonding protocols
• Circulate and assist with c-section procedures as needed
• Deliver patient-centered care following AIDET and bedside shift report practices
• Facility provides scrubs for RN staff
• Maintain professional appearance with neat, clean hair and minimal visible body art or piercings
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
