Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Telemetry unit position requiring active MA RN licensure and the ability to interpret telemetry strips.

Details

• Work on a 37-bed Medical Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Care for patients with CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, Pneumonia, EtOH, and Dementia with cardiac co-morbidities
• Manage patients on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips
• Care for NSTEMI, Post-Pacemaker, and Post-Cardiac Cath Lab patients
• Occasional Surgical patients included in caseload
• RN to patient ratio is 1:4 (max 5) on Day and Evening shifts and 1:5-6 on Nights
• Weekday day shift includes a dedicated Charge RN without a patient assignment
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• 36-hour work week with rotating Day/Evening/Night shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) and every other weekend required
• Night shift positions do not rotate
• Floating to applicable units required as needed
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required (no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• Telemetry certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in one location and 2 years of experience as a Traveler required
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips required
• Knowledge of cardiac drips required
• Experience providing nursing care for post-cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patients preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR charting experience required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

• Provide comprehensive medical-telemetry nursing care across a diverse cardiac and medical patient population
• Local candidates accepted; permanent residence must be 60 miles from Boston for standard rate eligibility
• Scrub color requirements may apply per facility policy
