Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long-Term Care position requiring an active NY RN license and at least 1 year of LTC or skilled nursing experience.

Details

• Long-Term Care unit within a 300-bed state/government-run nursing and rehabilitation center
• Facility offers rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, wound care, and additional services
• Cares for an Alzheimer's and dementia patient population
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:18-20
• Night shift, 5x8-hour shifts (10:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 40 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Uses PointClickCare (PCC) EMR, not required for consideration
• No floating between units required
• Overtime not typically available; approved on a case-by-case basis

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required with no license hits allowed
• Minimum of 1 year of Long-Term Care (LTC) or skilled nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Must pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Must be an American citizen; Canadian citizens cannot be accepted
• Background hits accepted
• Strong attendance, punctuality, and dependability required

Additional Information

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and perform medication passes accurately and safely
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition and complete timely, accurate documentation
• Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies and supervise CNAs on assigned units
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse individuals required
• Team-oriented with a positive, professional, and personable demeanor
• Attire consists of any solid-colored scrubs with closed-toe shoes
• Free parking available; no mileage reimbursement offered
• Orientation occurs every 2 weeks and cannot be missed
• Shifts begin 15 minutes early and end 15 minutes late; failure to comply may result in attendance write-ups
• Once offered, shift and RTO cannot be changed; holiday RTO must be arranged directly with the facility after starting
• Call-outs must be reported more than 24 hours in advance
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted
• Required to complete Relias training modules within 3 days prior to assignment start
