Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Long-Term Care position requiring an active NY RN license and at least 1 year of LTC or skilled nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a state/government-run long-term care center offering rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care
• Provide care within the LTC unit to residents with Alzheimer's and dementia
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:18-20 within a 300-bed facility
• Evening shift, 8 hours, 5 days per week, 14:45-23:15
• Every other weekend required
• 40 hours per week with no overtime available unless approved case-by-case
• Uses PointClickCare (PCC) charting system, though prior experience is not required to apply

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration with no license hits allowed
• Minimum of 1 year of Long-Term Care (LTC) or skilled nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Must provide proof of license at time of consideration
• Strong attendance and punctuality required
• Must be an American citizen; Canadian citizens cannot be accepted
• Background check hits may be accepted

Additional Information

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and perform accurate medication passes
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition and complete timely, accurate documentation
• Supervise CNAs on assigned units
• Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse individuals required
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and a team player with a positive attitude
• Attire includes any solid color scrubs with closed-toe shoes
• Free parking available; no mileage reimbursement offered
• Orientation occurs every 2 weeks and cannot be missed
• Shift start and end times include a 15-minute buffer before and after scheduled hours
• Once offered, shift and RTO requests cannot be changed; holiday RTO will not be approved
• Call-outs must be reported more than 24 hours in advance
• Required training modules must be completed no later than 3 days prior to assignment start
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
