Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a high acuity ICU Stepdown position requiring active NJ or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ICU experience.
Details
- Work in a high acuity Stepdown Unit (SDU) within a hospital setting
- PM shift schedule, 7p-7a
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- Floating as needed, including to a sister hospital nearby
- On-call responsibilities required
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active NJ or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
- Deliver competent clinical care including use of emergency equipment and procedures
- Maintain accurate and complete nursing documentation including patient education records
- Support pre-admission testing (PAT) processes and evaluate orders for appropriateness
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient assessment and education
- Follow National Patient Safety Goals including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques
- Collaborate with the care team to prioritize patient needs and ensure continuity of care
- Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
- Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break
