Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long-Term Care position requiring an active NY RN license and at least 1 year of LTC/skilled nursing experience.

Details

• Work as a Cart RN in the Long-Term Care unit of a 300-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility
• Care for residents in a facility offering rehabilitation therapies, skilled nursing, memory care, and wound care
• Patient population includes Alzheimer's and Dementia residents
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:18-20
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• Every other weekend required upon center request
• 40 hours per week with no overtime available at this center
• No floating between units required
• PCC (Point Click Care) charting system used, though experience is not required for consideration

Requirements

• Active NY State RN license required with no license hits allowed
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing experience required
• Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Must be an American citizen; Canadian citizens cannot be accepted at this facility
• Strong attendance and punctuality required
• Proof of license required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and perform accurate medication passes
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition and complete timely, accurate documentation
• Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies
• Supervise CNAs on assigned units
• Shifts begin 15 minutes early and end 15 minutes after scheduled times
• Attire includes any solid color scrubs with closed toe shoes
• Free parking available; no mileage reimbursement offered
• Shift cannot be changed once offered
• New start dates occur every 2 weeks due to orientation schedule, and orientation cannot be missed
• Required training modules must be completed no later than 3 days prior to assignment start date
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration and will not be approved after offer; holiday RTO must be arranged directly with the center after starting
• Call-outs must be reported with more than 24 hours notice
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted
• Compliance process takes approximately 1.5-2 weeks
