Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Neuro ICU of a hospital environment
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• May float to the ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in neurological care including EVD, ICP monitoring, CVA/stroke management, and post-neurosurgery care
• Experience with ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines, and vasoactive drip titration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and neurosurgical patients
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the travel pay rate; local candidates may be considered at a local rate
• Returning employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
