Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring Level I trauma experience and interventional scrub skills in a high-volume, high-acuity procedural setting.
Details
- Work in the Cath Lab, including diagnostic and interventional PCI environments as well as the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Cares for patients with diagnoses including AMI, chest pain, heart failure, NSTEMI, aortic stenosis, V-Tach, endocarditis, afib, peripheral vascular disease, and sick sinus syndrome
- Functions as RN Circulator, providing conscious sedation under physician direction, handing off sterile supplies, assessing vitals, and documenting in Epic
- May cross-train to run hemodynamics in the monitor tech role
- Utilizes Epic documentation system along with Impella and IABP equipment
- Rotating 4x10 shifts, including 0700-1730 and 1000-2030
- Required to work every other weekend
- Rotating on-call requirement including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays that may change per unit needs
- Floating required within the cardiovascular service line
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required, including STEMI scrub experience
- Minimum 1 year of EP experience required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Interventional scrub experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with vascular studies/procedures, cardiac cath lab procedures, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, rotablator atherectomy, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
- Experience with angioplasty, upper and lower extremity angiography, ASD closures, cardiac implant closure devices, TAVR, TEE, valvuloplasty, and Watchman procedures preferred
Additional Information
- Serve as RN Circulator in a high-volume, high-acuity procedural cardiovascular environment
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
- Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
- Navy scrubs required
