Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring an NM or compact RN license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Level I Trauma, Children's, teaching hospital operating at over 100% capacity
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- 36 or 48 hour contracts available
- Patient ratio of 1:5, with possible 1:6
- Weekend requirement of 2 shifts per 4-week schedule, which may vary by unit
- Floating required to other MS/Tele, PCU, and lower acuity med surg-like floors within skillset, including the ED at a 1:5 ratio
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Facility may call off up to 3 times throughout a 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required, pending license accepted at time of submission
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- RQI certifications not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs required
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Non-local candidates only, must reside outside 100-mile radius with non-local driver's license on file
Additional Information
- Must work 2 out of 3 designated holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
- COVID vaccine is optional, though the facility is required to report vaccination numbers; candidates must upload vaccine series or a declination
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Block scheduling accommodation is not guaranteed
- Requests for RTO greater than 10 days require facility approval
- Black scrubs are required, though not provided by the facility
- No fee for parking
- A 6-month system break is required for travelers who have completed 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark, whichever comes first
- Former staff must have a 12-month separation before returning to the facility
