Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of acute experience and ARRT (R) certification for a cardiac and interventional radiology role.

Details

  • Hospital-based Interventional Radiology unit with 3 procedure rooms and 8 beds
  • Average daily census of 25 patients
  • Treats adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
  • 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • On-call requirements include one weekday call and Q4W weekend call from Friday 4:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Utilizes PACS system and fluoroscopy equipment
  • In-house 24/7 provider coverage including intensivists, NPs, CRNAs, hospitalists, and anesthesiologists
  • Support staff includes interpretation services, lift teams, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response team, respiratory services, social services, transportation, and unit secretary
  • SBAR communication system utilized

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required
  • ARRT (R) and BLS certifications required, ARRT (VI) preferred
  • OH license required if applicable
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Experience with genitourinary procedures including catheter/drain exchange, embolization, and internal/external biliary drainage
  • Uterine arterial embolization experience preferred
  • Central venous access experience (non-tunneled/PICC lines) required
  • Central venous line and PICC line care and maintenance experience preferred
  • Experience with vascular procedures including TIPS and central venous access/port placement
  • Experience with abdominal and pelvic procedures including chest tube placement, embolization, IVC filter placement/removal, stent placement, and thoracentesis
  • CT experience preferred
  • Fluoroscopy equipment experience required
  • Experience with Philips and Siemens equipment preferred
  • Proficient in equipment set up, prepping access sites, and maintaining a sterile field
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and rapid response/code team protocols
  • Sterile technique and infection control competency required
  • Pediatric interventional radiology experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include equipment set up, sterile field maintenance, and equipment maintenance
  • Works within a multidisciplinary care team supported by dedicated ancillary services
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Floating to other units and/or facilities may be required as part of the assignment
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered

The schedule was 8 hours days the schedule had no flexibility. I used 1 sick day as provided in my contract and they immediately contacted my agency to complain
