Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring at least 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with remote telemetry capability and a variety of med/surg diagnoses
• 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33 and a 1:6 patient ratio
• Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication method
• Every other weekend shift required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• 14-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and proper PPE use

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO will be granted
• If three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
