Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring VA or compact RN license and Epic charting experience.
Details
- Float pool position covering Med/Surg and Telemetry units
- Patient population includes general medical/surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac cases
- Duties include neurological/psychiatric care, CVA management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- Weekend coverage required on either a Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday block
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Floating may be requested based on facility needs
Requirements
- Active VA RN license or compact license in hand
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Specialty experience within the last year required
- Current certifications: BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS (ACLS preferred) through the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale education required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement preferred
- SSN required for consideration
- One supervisory reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide float pool nursing care across Med/Surg and Telemetry units, floating to areas of need
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Prior permanent employees must have separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible for travel assignments
- Candidates cannot work both travel and per diem contracts at this facility simultaneously
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no more than 7 days total during the assignment and no calendar week-long requests preferred
- All RTO requests must be submitted with the initial submission, and no additional RTO will be approved after an offer is given
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
