Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of OR experience, EPIC charting, and previous charge experience.
Details
- Operating Room department in a Level I Trauma Center and the largest acute care hospital in the Toledo metropolitan area
- 1:1 patient ratios on all shifts
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
- One weekend per month required (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday)
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to other units and/or facilities as needed is expected
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Surgical specialties include cardiothoracic, vascular, neuro/spine, orthopedic, general, GYN, DaVinci robotic, ENT/dental/plastics/maxillofacial, cystoscopy/urology, and pediatrics
- EPIC charting system required
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
- Previous charge experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- EPIC charting experience required (hard requirement)
- Skilled in general OR procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic-assisted procedures, mastectomy, and thyroidectomy
- Skilled in gynecological procedures including abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy and laparoscopic-assisted GYN procedures
- Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, GI robotic surgery, and gynecologic robotic surgery required
- Trauma experience with gunshot/stab wounds and multiple-injury MVA cases required
- Knowledgeable in fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia management
- Experience with electrosurgical units required
- Skilled in infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol time-out procedures
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Circulating experience required, with scrub experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Telemetry experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide circulating and surgical support across a wide range of specialties within a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted
- Requested time off greater than 7 days requires management approval
- Returning staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
