Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Operating Room with required circulating and scrub experience across multiple surgical specialties, including robotics, for a Day shift position requiring prior charge experience.

Details

  • Main OR setting supporting General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgeries
  • 16 operating rooms with an average daily census of 35 patients
  • Adult to geriatric patient population
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Day shift, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM
  • Uses Epic, Pyxis, and 2 Da Vinci Xi Surgical Robots
  • 2-3 weekends required per 8-week schedule, either in-house or on call
  • On-call requirements include 7-8 calls per 8-week schedule, with 1 weekend call, 1-2 weekend shifts, and 2-3 weekday night calls
  • Call shifts are either 7 PM-7 AM or 7 AM-7 PM
  • Floating is rare but may occur within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Scrubs provided by facility

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required; 3 years of charge RN experience required
  • Circulating and scrubbing experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, robotics, urology, and more, with several procedures preferred rather than required

Additional Information

  • Provide circulating and scrub support across a high-volume, multi-specialty surgical unit
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of consideration and not adjustable after offer or onsite
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week
  • Blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Prior Piedmont employees (permanent, PRN, or internal staff) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers previously cancelled or deemed unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
  • No schedule requests or shift changes permitted; the listed shift is firm
  • Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
