Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele (Orthopedic Spine) position requiring an active SC or compact license and prior orthopedic nursing experience.

Details

• Adult 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries (laminectomies, spinal fusions, discectomies) with integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support
• Patient population includes Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE diagnoses
• Performs special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post-Cath care (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend requirement, approximately 6 weekend shifts
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on facility need

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience in a similar unit required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Dysrhythmia certification preferred
• Orthopedic nursing experience required
• 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

• Deliver specialized post-operative care for patients recovering from spinal surgeries, including pain management and mobility support
• Located in a regional community teaching medical center designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Facility features 641 licensed beds and advanced specialty programs in cardiac, stroke, and vascular care
• Orientation occurs every Monday with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted under facility-specific radius requirements
• Facility permits one call-off shift per two weeks
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted and approved by the facility at time of booking
