Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring SC or compact RN license and EPIC EMR experience.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes orthopedic and bariatric diagnoses on a telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses Pyxis medication system
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Floating required to similar units or nearby hospitals as needed based on census

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty required
• First-time travelers require 3 years of experience within specialty
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Oxygen administration and nasal cannula experience required
• EKG testing skills required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to orthopedic and bariatric patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergencies including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula as needed
• Orientation held every Monday, with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and modules required to be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Floating expected to other qualified units or campuses based on facility census needs
• Travelers must be located more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with certain night shift specialty exceptions allowing 50+ miles from the contracted campus
• Candidates with 1+ years of recent unit experience will be considered
