Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Stepdown Cardiac unit requiring strong cardiac telemetry experience and at least one year of Epic EMR experience.
Details
- Work in the Stepdown Cardiac unit of a hospital setting
- Care for cardiac telemetry patients requiring continuous monitoring
- Average daily census of 24 with a 4:1 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- Charting completed using Epic EMR and Pyxis
- Floating to other units and campuses required based on qualifications and demonstrated competencies
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Stepdown Cardiac or Cardiac Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Skilled in IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
- Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration and tracheostomy management
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including use of Rapid Response and Code teams
- Manage cardiac drips, heparin protocols, and IV insulin/titration protocols
- Perform wound care and manage surgical drains as needed
- Care for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery
- Orientation occurs every Monday along with annual compliance training
- Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, subject to facility approval based on staffing needs
- Night shift candidates must reside 50+ miles from the contracted campus for eligibility, with full pay rate granted at 100+ miles
- Travelers under 50 miles from the facility are not eligible for this position
- Free parking is available
