Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level III NICU position requiring 2+ years of NICU III/IV experience and a Washington state RRT license.
Details
- Level III NICU unit at a regional medical center
- Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:00) or day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:00) available
- Weekend work required every other weekend per CBA
- May float between units within the facility and to sister facilities as needed
- Patient ratios assigned per hospital acuity
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, with specific experience in a Level III or IV NICU
- Level 2 Adult ICU experience required
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS (or ENPC) required
- CRT or RRT certification required
- Washington state RRT license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Experience with high frequency jet ventilator, oscillating ventilator, and pressure/volume ventilator preferred
- Experience with direct neonatal intubation and umbilical blood gases preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to critically ill neonatal patients including high-risk delivery support and ventilator management
- Perform airway management, suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
- Draw and interpret arterial blood gases
- Administer medications including nitric oxide as needed
- Work as part of a NICU care team alongside adult critical care and emergency department coverage as needed
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Former Providence facility employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they do not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at the standard travel bill rate
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered local for pay purposes
