Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN with a minimum of 2 years of Level II NICU experience and prior travel assignment experience for a day shift contract role.

Details

• Level II NICU with 8 private rooms
• Float required to Transition Nurse role in LDRP
• Charting via EPIC Stork with medication administration through Accudose
• Intensivist, hospitalist, and anesthesiologist in house 24/7
• Special equipment includes ATOM Beds/Isolette, Phillips Monitors, NicVIew Camera System, and specialized lighting
• Self-scheduling available
• Patient population includes infants greater than 32 weeks gestation, ventilation less than 24 hours, and weight cutoff of 1500 grams
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• May be called off or placed on-call once per pay period with a 60 minute call back requirement if on-call
• Expected to float within skill set

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required on hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• STABLE certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Level II NICU experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Delivery room attendance experience required
• Proficiency in ventilator management and IV starts required
• EPIC charting experience preferred but not required
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to Level II NICU infants including ventilator management and delivery room attendance when needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
• Former facility employees must have been separated for 2 or more years to return as a travelers
• RTO should not exceed 7 days and must be submitted with initial profile; no more than 4 consecutive days off will be approved and no time off allowed within first two weeks of assignment
• Travelers must work every other holiday, with preference for coverage on 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve)
• Only one contract extension allowed, after which time off equal to the combined length of the original contract and extension must be taken before returning to this facility as a traveler
• Candidates should be flexible with scheduling as block scheduling is rarely granted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
