Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with Level I Trauma Center experience preferred and required certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Patient ratio of 1:3.5
- Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
- Floating required
- Weekend rotation of every other or every third weekend
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
- CPI certification preferred
- Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility experience preferred
- Must be comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications including vasopressors
- Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care preferred
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, and management of dysrhythmias
- Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation
- 36 hours of orientation provided
- Navy scrubs required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
- RTO must be submitted with initial contract request and limited to 7 days or less
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract as part of credentialing requirements
