Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience, 1 year of travel experience, and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Onc Pod Emergency Department within a cancer hospital setting
• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Floating required
• Patient ratio of 1:4

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and pediatric emergency care
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care to a combined adult/pediatric patient population in a Level I Trauma Center
• Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified institution
• Manage patients requiring IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care
• Administer emergency medications including IV vasopressors
• Care for patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilator support, including ABG interpretation
• Assist with sickle cell crisis management
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract at time of application, with a limit of 7 or fewer days
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after being away for 6 months or more
• Current employees of the health system are not eligible for a travel assignment at this facility
