Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring 2 years of experience and telemetry/IV start skills.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting on the Stepdown Cardiac unit
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
- Rotating weekends required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- No on-call requirements
- May be required to float between Downtown and Northeast campuses based on census and staffing needs, adjusting to the ratio of the floated unit
- Uses Epic EMR
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
Requirements
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Telemetry and IV start skills required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a cardiac stepdown/PCU/IMC setting including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- First-time travelers will be considered but candidates with previous travel experience are preferred
- Royal blue scrub color required
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be prioritized; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- During hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), all staff including travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Parking available near facility; downtown lots require a free parking pass distributed at badge pickup
