Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool role requiring prior travel experience and the ability to float across multiple ICU specialties.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool position within a hospital setting
• Covers a variety of ICU environments including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, progressive critical care unit (PCCU), and ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Floating to multiple ICU units is a core part of this role
• 48-hour weekly schedules may be considered

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Level I trauma center experience preferred
• Experience floating across multiple ICU specialties highly desired
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Competency testing required within 24 hours of consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN not accepted
• Only medical exemptions accepted for flu vaccination; personal or religious declinations not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU units as part of a float pool team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week contract period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
