Description
American Traveler is hiring a GI Lab RN for an outpatient endoscopy setting requiring 3+ years of GI experience and BLS/ACLS certification.
Details
- Work in the GI Lab of an outpatient endoscopy center providing pre- and post-procedure care
- Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- May include on-call responsibilities pending additional details
- Supports procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, bronchoscopy, EBUS, EUS, esophageal variceal banding, and sclerotherapy
- Administers and monitors conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care
- Performs airway management and sedation recovery
- Utilizes equipment such as electrosurgical units, ERBE units, balloon dilators, polyp snares, and forceps
- Uses Provation for procedure documentation
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active WI or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted at submission but must be obtained during compliance
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification may be pending at submission but must be completed during compliance
- Minimum 3 years of GI/Endoscopy nursing experience required; 5 years preferred
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs and administering medications including Propofol, Versed, opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
- Skilled in obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Ability to scrub and circulate for GI procedures
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include specimen handling and labeling, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and post-procedure recovery care
- Badge photo (passport-style) required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
- Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance
- Facility cannot accommodate candidates with latex allergies
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
- Travel pairs accepted
- Previous travelers may return only after a minimum 1-year separation from the facility
- Orientation includes modules averaging 3-4 hours in length
