Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown position requiring MO or compact RN license, ACLS/BLS certification, and 1-2 years of stepdown experience.
Details
- Stepdown unit within a short-term acute care hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- On-call required every 3rd weekend
- Float rotation to Med Tele, Med Surg, and Rehab units as needed
- May be scheduled for charge nurse duties
- Uses Epic EMR
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or Compact)
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only)
- 1-2 years of relevant nursing experience required
- Experience with drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, and Dobutamine
- Experience with special procedures/equipment: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, BiPAP, and AIRVO
- Must be comfortable caring for isolation patients, including COVID-19
Additional Information
- Facility is a smoke-free environment
- Black scrub color required

- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility (local travelers not accepted)
- All time-off requests must be submitted at time of consideration; requests made afterward will not be approved
- Facility conducts a day-one drug screen at orientation in addition to agency compliance drug screening
- 7-panel drug and alcohol screening required prior to start
- Orientation typically held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month, lasting approximately 3-4 days
