Description
American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a 13-week days assignment requiring an active WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting within a hospital
- 13-week assignment with a day shift schedule
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Facility retains up to 24 hours of call-off time at no cost during the assignment
- Up to two shifts per month or six shifts within the 13-week assignment may be cancelled
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BLS (HCP level, AHA or equivalent) required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire, renewed every 2 years
- PALS or PEARS certification required within 6 months of hire, renewed every 2 years
- CPAN certification preferred
- Acute care RN experience preferred
- Minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments
- Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs and assist with lifting/pushing/pulling 60-300 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for 8-12 hour shifts
Additional Information
- Functions as both caregiver and care manager, overseeing a group of patients and directing the work of other caregivers
- May be required to function as Charge Nurse, including delegating assignments, coordinating admits/discharges/transfers, and supporting staff
- Documents patient care via electronic medical records and/or paper processes per policy
- Participates in Total Joint Program requirements including 4 hours of orientation training and 4 hours of annual training
- Follows total joint replacement care pathways as applicable to specialty area
- Works closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Demonstrates competency on department-specific equipment
