Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg LTAC night shift position requiring an active IL RN license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in the LTAC Med/Surg unit of an acute care hospital
• 10-bed unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Patient population includes respiratory failure, post-surgical, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac patients
• Performs PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/midline care, and tracheostomy patient care
• RNs are required to titrate drips, including Heparin
• Respiratory Therapy manages ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment
• Telemetry is monitored by a dedicated Monitor Tech in the ICU using housewide tele packs
• House Supervisor available 24/7
• Nurse aides/patient care techs available at a 1:10 ratio
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Requires working every other weekend and filling additional shifts as needed
• Holiday rotation required, including filling additional holiday shifts as needed
• May float to ICU (for qualified MS nurses) and occasionally to Acute Rehab
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ACLS certification preferred but not required
• BSN not required
• Must pass a negative drug screen for all panels

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a long-term acute care Med/Surg setting
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor, plus classroom orientation per facility policy
• Scrubs required in any color, with only facility-approved t-shirts permitted
• No on-call or standby requirements at this time, though this is subject to change
