Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of recent specialty experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele (MS/Tele) unit of a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
• 13-week assignment
• Patient ratio of 1:7 using team nursing model with support from PCC, RN, and other staff
• On-call as needed
• Weekend shifts as needed, with possible weekend block scheduling considered
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state, or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
• TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg Tele specialty required, 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• ADN accepted for this position
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care within a team nursing model
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted under this strict radius rule
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 3+ years of recent specialty experience
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must be willing to work 2 of the 3 holidays
• If only 2 of these holidays fall within the assignment, must be willing to work at least 1 of the 2
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Former travelers who completed a full year assignment must wait 1 full year before returning
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront, as RTO requested after an offer is made will not be honored
• Vaccination status must be provided for consideration
