Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN with at least 1 year of nursing experience and Epic charting experience for a night shift role at a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in the Stepdown unit of a hospital environment
• Care for cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC, and neuro stepdown patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 1900-0700
• Uses Epic charting system
• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri State or Compact) required, pending licenses considered but must be active and in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• Skills in wound care and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, medication management, and respiratory support
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Perform sheath removal and post cardiac catheterization care
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Free parking available on-site
