Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of recent experience and at least one prior travel assignment.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit covering post-surgical and observation patients
• Unit is transitioning to a team nursing model and incorporating LPN support
• Patient ratio of 1:6 or 1:7
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend rotation required as needed
• On-call required as needed
• May float between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius, though cross-campus floating is rare

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines (no pending licensure accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required, 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required
• ADN accepted for this position
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Telemetry skills required
• IV Start skills preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Vaccination status must be provided for consideration
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, as RTO submitted after an offer will not be honored

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients in a post-surgical and observation setting
• Support unit's transition to a team nursing model working alongside LPNs
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must be willing to work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 of these holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a travel RN
• Local candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered, though block scheduling is generally not accommodated
